Your task this week is to design a poster for Sabre's Print in All Colors Minority Executive Training Program. The poster should convey what the training program is, namely:
"To encourage innovations and superb customer service, Sabre recruits,
hires, trains, and promotes without regard to race, skin tone, gender,
age, religion, marital status, disability*, sexual orientation, national
origin, veteran status, or surgical history. Our Management Trainee
program (a part of "Print in All Colors") seeks out Sabre's best and
brightest employees who otherwise would not be considered for
management. These future leaders take with them not only their great
minds and beautiful hearts but a cultural understanding that is
unmatched. *Disability does not include color-blindness."
INSTRUCTIONS
- Familiarize yourself with Sabre by visiting its website, especially the new pages on Kelly Kapoor.
- Make sure you are logged in to DMI before you start.
- This
task uses our simple design tool. In order to view it properly, please
make sure your monitor's resolution is set higher than 1024x768.
- LIBRARIES:
The "Current Library" contains the assets specific to this task. "My
Library" contains images you upload yourself, while the "DMI Library"
contains assets available for all design tasks.
- REQUIRED: All posters must include the "Print in All Colors" logo, and ONE of the Sabre logos provided in the Current Library. The size and placement of these logos is up to you.
- ASSETS: To use
any asset (with the exception of the Draw tool), drag it onto the
canvas. There you can adjust its size, and with shapes also its
transparency. Assets can be sent to the front or the back, masked, cut,
copied, pasted, etc. You can change the fill color of shapes and text
too. Play around with the tools to get a feel for what you can do.
- DRAWING:
To draw, click on the pen and start writing directly on the canvas.
- IMPORTING:
To import your own image, click on the "My Library" tab and then the
Import button. Choose either Images or Background from the dropdown menu
for where you want your image to be categorized once uploaded. Click
Browse to choose an image (JPG, GIF, PNG) from your computer, then click
Upload to add it to your library. Once in your library you can drag it
to the canvas, and it will be available for all future design tasks. DO
NOT: Upload and use any copyrighted images (brands, sports teams,
cartoon characters, photos from magazines, etc.). You may upload images
of Office characters as long as you found them on DMI or on The Office
website on NBC.com.
- ERASING: To erase your canvas and start
over, click the
Reset button.
- SAVING: To save your design, click Save. You will
be given three choices: 1) Save Current. This saves within the tool, so
when you return at a later time your design will still be there. 2) Save
to Profile. This saves your design to the Photos area of your Employee
Profile. 3) Save to Desktop. This saves your design as a JPG file to
your computer. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Save button DOES NOT submit
your design to Corporate for eventual voting.
- SUBMITTING: Once
you are satisfied with your poster and want to submit it to Corporate
and get your SchruteBucks, click on the Submit button to the far top
right.
- IMPORTANT: You may submit as many posters as
you want, but only the last one submitted before the deadline will
count. In order to be eligible for branch voting, DO NOT submit anything
past the deadline as it will invalidate your previously eligible
submission.
